The world is facing various crises, ranging from pandemics, endemics, climate change, to war conflicts. The challenge to deal with these global impacts requires collaborative collaboration or various countries and sectors.

The G20 is a multi-year forum that aims to share knowledge, encourage discussion among members, and build partnerships among global innovation companies. This year Indonesia uses the name of G20 Digital Innovation Network (G20 DIN) to provide a digital platform to facilitate all participants from around the world to connect and engage in virtual events. The project aims to ensure all stakeholders can participate in the event.

Today, seven of the 10 largest companies in the world are in the technology sector. Startups that generate technological innovations must work closely with stakeholders to make these solutions scalable. The G20 Digital Innovation Network has the theme Digital Economy Awakening: Post-Pandemic Recovery and Beyond.

The G20 Digital Innovation Network is the premier forum for sharing knowledge, encouraging discussion, and building partnerships among global innovation players. This forum was initiated by Italy in 2021 under the name G20 Digital Innovation League and selected the 10 best startups, namely ACT Blade, Biomicrogels Group, Dott, Ntechlab, Nalagenetics, Poka, Ruangguru, Sansure, Virtuo, and Zerynth. This year, the G20 Digital Innovation Network is looking for the 100 most promising startups in 5 priority sectors, namely Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Smart Society, Financial Inclusivity, and Supply Chain. Taking place on September 2-4, 2022, the G20 Digital Innovation Network features a variety of sessions including startup pitches, keynote speeches, panel discussions, cultural events, 1-on-1 business meetings, and world-class networking sessions.

By building a network between the public and private sectors as the main essence of this forum, the G20 Digital Innovation Network creates a digital platform to make it easier for startups, venture capitalists, corporations, and policymakers to get to know and communicate with each other. Fostering global collaboration is essential considering that the G20 has a strategic role in securing future global economic growth and prosperity. Overall, the G20 members represent more than 80 percent of the world’s GDP, 75 percent of international trade, and 60 percent of the world’s population.

WGS is trusted by Kominfo as part of the team of experts who directs the internal team in Indonesia in communicating with multiple vendors where the systems that being built are:

  • Information portal: website for all information related to events or events that will be held at G20
  • Networking platform: application to bring together startups/exhibitors with venture capital/investors/companies that are interested or interested in the company or product being brought
  • Conference platform: application to support and facilitate conferences at every event and even bring together venture capital/investors/companies with startups/exhibitors
  • Mentoring platform: application to support and facilitate mentoring every startup with the help of a Google representative as the speaker

These systems will be used by industry representatives from each of the G20 member countries to be able to collaborate with each other in building joint business and revival of the world economy.

To answer the objectives of this project, the Digital Platform application needs to be made with features that allow:

  1. Venture Capital can connect with potential startups to invest in or other opportunities by selecting potential startups based on their interests
  2. Startups can connect with leading Venture Capital, other synergized startups, and/or corporations and initiate communication to explore more collaborative opportunities
  3. Startups can obtain information about the landscape and market characteristics of G20 member countries as well as initiatives or agendas from corporations, venture capitalists, and other startups in the information portal.
  4. Corporations can share their upcoming initiatives or agendas so that startups with the expertise to support these initiatives can start to connect and explore opportunities to collaborate.

In order for a project to be declared a success, the following success metrics must be achieved, including:

  • 100+ Venture Capital and 100+ startups attended both in-person and virtual meetings5000 business meetings scheduled via digital platform with minimum 50% attendance percentage
  • 2500 business meetings occurred during the event
  • 100+ new venture capital and startup data entries in existing database
  • Participants complete 90% of the required information

  2. Responsive and PWA-enabled web-based application to be used by all participants
