WGS Team attended The Couchbase Partner Workshop, this event aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge in utilizing Couchbase technologies. The workshop was structured over three days, focusing on both foundational and functionalities of Couchbase.

Workshop  Overview

Day 1: Basic Functionality Training

The first day was dedicated to introducing the team to Couchbase’s basic functionalities. This training covered essential concepts such as JSON document management, key/value pairs, and SQL++ querying. Participants learned how Couchbase can effectively replace traditional relational database management systems (RDBMS) with its NoSQL architecture.

Day 2: Advanced Functionality Training

On the second day, the workshop delved into advanced functionalities, including:

  • Vector Search: Leveraging Couchbase’s capabilities to perform complex searches using vector representations.
  • Eventing: Understanding how to implement event-driven architectures within Couchbase.
  • Analytics and Columnar Data: Exploring analytics features and how to manage columnar data effectively.

Additionally, WGS team prepared for an examination related to the workshop and engaged in a Partner Challenge, which encouraged practical application of the skills learned.

Day 3: Partner Challenge Presentation & Exam

The final day was dedicated to the Partner Challenge presentations, where WGS teams showcased applications developed using Couchbase. Our team developed two applications for this trials :

  1. Simple Travel Booking and Schedule Information: Our first application was a simple travel booking and schedule information system. Using Couchbase’s basic functionalities, such as JSON documents, Key/Value pairs, and SQL++, we showcased how Couchbase can be used to substitute traditional RDBMS systems, offering better scalability and performance for managing structured and unstructured data alike.
  2. Movie Search Application:The second project was a movie search application that allowed users to search for films based on summaries or descriptions rather than titles. By integrating OpenAI’s LLM with Couchbase’s Vector Search, we demonstrated how Couchbase can handle complex, vector-based queries, providing an intuitive and user-friendly search experience, even when precise movie titles are unknown.

Both applications highlighted the power and flexibility of Couchbase as a solution for modern business needs, from managing travel schedules to enhancing entertainment search engines.

Certification Achievement

At the end of the workshop, we were proud to announce that WGS team had achieved certification as Couchbase Associate Architect. This newly acquired certification marks the beginning of a deeper relationship with the Couchbase ecosystem, and we look forward to leveraging these skills to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore the limitless possibilities of Couchbase!
