In this first blog post that I’m writing, I want to introduce more of our company values. These are the values that I personally believe, and that I share with all of our employees, and that is compulsory to be upheld.
Integrity
This is the most important one. I believe even without formal legal bindings, everyone has a moral obligation to do the right thing. Simple ficitional example: if A lends B a big sum of money, and without any legal forms signed, B should pay A back on time without being asked. If we work with a client of our client, we wont steal the client away. If we work with an employee of a supplier, we wont steal the employee away. We dont believe in greed. Success comes with trust.
Discipline & Honesty
Discipline and honesty are part of Integrity as well. In fact, every small things that we do require that we are honest. A small example, when an employee come to work, does he work effectively for 7 hours, or does he ‘steal’ time by doing a lot of irrelevant stuff, which would negatively impact both the company and the company’s clients.
Passion to improve and keep learning
It’s not because we are on a technology business that we need to continuously learn. I believe on any industry, people need to keep learning. Buy a good book relevant to your job. Read and get inspired. Apply to your workplace and enjoy the process. By the way, passion to improve does not apply to yourself only. You have to have a sincere desire to help others succeed. Help your colleagues succeed (share knowledge), your company succeed, and your clients succeed (give your best). When you dont care who gets the credit for a success, you will be happier.
Excellence
No business can grow without a paranoid attitude to strive for excellence in everything we do. There are a lot to learn, and yet it’s not an excuse to produce non-excellent work. Basically give your best. Not only in the workplace, but also in your personal life. After all, ‘give your best’ is what major religions in the world teach.
