The ASEAN RE Guidelines is an institute that facilitates increased private sector activity and investment in the Renewable Energy (RE) sector of the ASEAN region. Renewable energy is generated from natural processes that are continuously replenished, which include sunlight, geothermal heat, wind, tides, water, and various forms of biomass.
One member of The ASEAN RE, GIZ (an experienced service provider that assists the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation), contacted WGS to develop a process diagram application to give information to its stakeholder how to run a Renewable Energy initiatives. The information is displayed in chart forms such as Gantt chart and Flowchart. It is to help:
- * To highlight administrative procedures including requirements for project developers and/or investors
- * To list legal and regulatory provisions as well as necessary permits.
- * To identify country-specific challenges for project development.
- * To give information on how to obtain financial closure.

To promote The ASEAN RE Guidelines, all members conducted a soft launching on Thursday, 4th of December 2014 at 13.00 through webinar. It was a success and therefore, to continue its noble purposes, the client is planning for another launch next year with more guidelines in more countries.
GIZ has been collaborating with Kementrian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (abbreviated to ESDM, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) in Indonesia to promote ASEAN RE Guidelines application. We believe that the application that WGS developed can help to facilitate increased private sector activity and investment in the Renewable Energy sector of the ASEAN region.
