ArticlesTechnologyShould your business develop a native mobile app?

Ikin WirawanFebruary 7, 2013

After the LBS app-related topics last month, we take a few steps back to discuss a rather open topic, but present it in a specific perspective: native mobile app for marketing use. Just in case you’re still wondering about the differences of native app and mobile site, you could see the comparative article about it HERE  to give you a heads up about this month’s theme.

To respond the question in the title, our answer would be “YES”.

People now work on their desktops and do their search casually on their portable gadgets; this is the face of modern society. They look for and share info, contact each other, even ‘stalk’ their important figures through various social media accounts with it; the thing they can carry around easily in their pockets and handbags. They cherish their gadgets with equal amount of care of their wallets; they keep it close and won’t let it fall from their sight and reach. People are always on the run nowadays, as it is hard enough to let them come to you, you should start coming closer to them.
That last sentence belongs in the early 2000s. As for today, you should start advancing to “become an inseparable part of them”.

Overdramatic much? We don’t think so. With native mobile app, those sweet words are achievable; your business and your customer will be together, forever (as long as they use the same gadget and keep your app in it, that is), literally.

Don’t take our words for it; check the statistics of your website, blogs and other visit-measurable platform, see if the visitor of your page is still revolves around desktop user. If so, you will still need to prepare a native mobile app development and be ready to compete in the future.

Why do we insist on you having these lovely native apps for your business? Here are a few reasons, to state the obvious:

  1. Keep your customer informed about your activities. Don’t put the boring company profile and plain brochure in the app. Be interesting.
  2. Offer specials and other promotional info that benefits them first. Let them spread the words to their peers that the app actually gave them a headstart to everything good about your brand.
  3. Location. App also poses the function of a magic name card; it lets the customer know the address, point the location on the map, and guide them to your business’ door. How cool is it to own such helpful app?
  4. Integrate your app with big social networking sites, and be ready to be talked about.
  5. New space to get creative. Your office is strict, your shop is all dandy and non experimental, but guess what? You can actually try something new, something fun and useful for the app; something that will make the app user remembers your brand in a positive light.
  6. New personalized broadcast media. Remember: don’t blast generic info. Personalized every pushed-notification with well-crafted words. Native mobile app is not a cheap thing to build, so don’t treat it cheaply.
  7. Create an exclusive relationship between you and your customers. How? When your app is on the market and ready, you own a direct access to their pockets. We believe you could figure something out and decide what to do next with it 🙂
  8. Personal + social = big chance to go viral.

In short, native mobile app is the small step you have to take to make a giant leap in marketing your business. You should never forget that technology progresses; don’t get too comfortable with the tech infrastructure you have now, unless you enjoy being a few steps behind the competition.

With havin so much content and articles do you
ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation?
My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any techniques to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d certainly appreciate it.

There will be fewer creases in non-knit fabrics if they are folded in
half horizontally. The range of clothing available
also encompasses every aspect of the consumer requirement, with jeans, T shirts and cardigans
all available amongst many other types of garments.
There is a “Shop Vintage” section to that offers
    up some handpicked vintage goodies.
